Dental Implants
Dental implants replace teeth that have been lost or broken. An implant, often made from titanium, is placed into a hole drilled into the jaw. This implant has a post on the end that rises out of the bone, and is left in place for a period of time to allow the bone to heal and to graft onto the implant. The implant essentially becomes a part of the jaw. Once the area around the implant is healed, a prosthetic is put into place, designed to replace the missing tooth or teeth. The end result is a replacement tooth that looks like a natural tooth! It will perform all of the functions that natural teeth do and can last for many years if properly taken care of.
Modern dentistry has changed the way that we deal with lost and missing teeth. Dental implants allow us to replace these teeth in a way that looks natural and offers proper funcionality.
