What to do During Dental Emergencies

Dental emergencies can happen at any time, day or night. Whether it’s a chipped tooth, an infection, or an abscess, emergencies can be difficult to deal with, especially if they occur during hours that your dentist happens to be closed.

At Southeast Dental, we want to ensure that we’re available for you and your family whenever you need our care. And since dental emergencies don’t happen when you expect them, you can’t schedule an appointment or wait until regular business hours. You need your problem looked at as soon as it happens. That’s why we’re ready to help, no matter what time it is.

If you’re wondering what would make a dental issue an emergency, here are a few examples – if any of these happen, they need to be treated right away:

  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Sudden infection
  • Broken dentures, bridges, crowns, and implants
  • Abscessed teeth

Regular dental check-ups can also help prevent these emergencies, so we do recommend booking your appointments and letting our dental team know of any concerns you may have, as well as any changes you’ve noticed in your mouth, teeth, and gums. Prevention is an important part of dental health.

And remember – if you have a dental emergency, there’s no need to panic! Just contact us at 905-471-2002, and we’ll be here to help you.
